Description
When the plantain peel is green to yellow, the fruit is not ripe and the flavor is bland. The peel turns to brown or black when the fruit is ripe. To speed the ripening process, put the plaintain into a paper bag with an apple. Fold the bag loosely shut and store in a warm, not hot, place. They could take more than one week to ripen.
